1. Who do I call for help with raccoons / foxes / ground hogs?

Although the township does not provide animal control, we have the names of 2 companies that will help homeowners deal with control and removal of most wildlife animal conflicts. You can contact Tom Spadano of Erlich at 610-431-7648 or Mark Thurston of Wildlife Associates at 610-608-1961.

Once contacted, these companies will assess the problem, provide quotes for removal / control and capture/remove the animal, all at the expense of the homeowner. They do not handle dead deer problems. If you have a dead deer, contact the PA Game Commission at 610-926-3136.

2. Who is responsible for repairs to sidewalks and curbs?

The homeowner is responsible for repairs to their sidewalk and curb. If you have any questions, please call us at 610-363-9450.

3. What do I do with old paint?

The trash hauler will not take cans of wet paint. Latex paint is not a hazardous waste which means it can be put out with your regular trash after it has been solidified.  This can be accomplished by simply removing the lid and allowing it to harden, mixing it with sawdust, kitty litter or rags. Do not replace the lid so the hauler knows all liquid has been absorbed.

4. What do I do with old refrigerators?

Please call a certified freon remover to have freon drained prior to disposal. Visit the Chester County Solid Waste website for additional information. After the freon is removed and a sticker placed on the refrigerator, you may place it curbside for pickup. Make sure all doors are removed for safety.

5. How do I dispose of medication?

Collection boxes for disposal of medications are set up at the county Justice Center and the Police Department buildings that serve East Brandywine, Kennett Square, New Garden, North Coventry, Parkesburg, Phoenixville, West Goshen, West Whiteland, Westtown, and East Goshen.
