The next meeting of the Uwchlan Township Zoning Hearing Board is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, 2023 to consider the application of Joseph & Mary Buckley to construct a 12 ft wide by 6 ft deep portico over the front step that will encroach the 50 ft front yard setback by 18 inches at the property located at 1015 Welsh Ayres Way.

About the Zoning Hearing Board


The Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial body that renders decisions on land use appeals and applications. The Zoning Hearing Board is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and members serve a 3-year term.

The Zoning Hearing Board:



  • Assures fair and equitable application and administration of the Township zoning ordinance. 
  • Hears appeals from the zoning officer’s determinations and grants relief from the enforcement of the zoning ordinance in certain hardship situations by means of a variance.
  • Hears applications for special use and challenges to the substantive validity of ordinances, as permitted by the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code (MPC).
