Below are summaries and are not to be meant as all-inclusive .. copies of the full ordinances are available upon

Barking Dog Ordinance ... (Ordinance 2006-08) It shall be unlawful and a violation of this Ordinance for the owner of any dog
to cause or permit a dog or dogs to bark, howl, bay or otherwise make any repetitive barking noise or disturbance which results in
a nuisance as defined in this ordinance. (Repetitive Barking Nuisance - the barking, howling, baying, or making of noise by
dogs, which noise interferes with or deprives any person the peace, quiet, rest, sleep or legitimate enjoyment of his or her property
within the Township, and which barking has no reasonable or legitimate purpose to prevent trespass or harm to personal safety or property.) A nuisance shall be presumed by proof of the continual barking or making such noise for a period in excess of five (5) minutes or
intermittently for one-half (1/2) hour or more during any day (24 hour period) and which is audible on any adjacent property or public
right-of-way. Upon the first offense the dog owner or keeper will be given a written warning notice by either certified letter,
citation,
or personal notice. After the initial written warning, anyone found in further violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance
by a District Justice in a summary proceeding shall be ordered to pay a penalty of a minimum of $100 for the first offense, a minimum
of $300 for the second offense and a minimum of $1,000 for the third and all subsequent offenses.
Noise Ordinance ...
(Ordinance 2006-07)
The purpose of this ordinance is to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of the resident’s of Uwchlan Township shall be protected
from noise pollution and public nuisances from disturbing and/or excessive noise. This ordinance is intended to protect the
physical, mental and social well-being of the resident’s of Uwchlan Township.
This ordinance directly addresses excessive noise and
vibration caused by;
1. Activities that create a nuisance, in that residents are deprived of the enjoyment of their homes, disturbed
in their sleep, and otherwise prevented from the quiet enjoyment of their residential premise.
2. Noise or vibrations that are
harmful to the health , safety and welfare of the Township’s inhabitants.
3. Related incidents that affect the property values of residences in the township and incidents that affect the public welfare
by reflecting negatively on the quality of life in the residential areas of the township.
4. The conduct and operation
of business and industry within the township, incidents that disturb the peace and good order of the township and those which create
noise pollution.
The ordinance also addresses the hours of operation for business operations and for power equipment operated
by property owners. Most uses of power equipment, or any other equipment which creates unreasonable noise, is prohibited
between the hours of 9:00 pm and 8:00 am., with the exception of Sunday morning, during which the restriction is in place until 9:00
am. This time frame is also the established time frame for parties and other social gatherings where excessive noise and vibrations
would also be prohibited between the hours of 9:00 pm and 8:00 am., with the exception of Sunday morning, during which the restriction
is in place until 9:00 am.
There are occasions where a special variance may be permitted.
Any variances would be requested by the event organizer in advance of the event and reviewed by the township officials in advance
of the event.
Fines associated with violations of this ordinance range from $100.00 to $1000.00 depending on the circumstances related
to a specific incident.
Curfew Ordinance ... (Ordinance 2006-02) It shall be unlawful for any minor who has not attained the eighteenth (18) anniversary
of the date of his birth to remain in or upon any street, public place or any establishment in the Township of Uwchlan between the
hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day, official Township time. This Section shall not apply to any minor
accompanied by a spouse 18 years of age or older, a parent, a legal guardian
or any adult twenty-one (21) years of age or others designated
by the parent or legal guardian to be responsible for the care and custody of the person of such minor, or to minor upon an
errand or other legitimate business directed by such minor's parent, legal guardian or to any minor who is engaged in gainful, lawful
employment during the curfew hours; provided the minor carries identification and evidence in writing to this effect.
